NIFST-NIHORT collaboration will propel significant development in horticultural produce for local and export market

It had been said that a NIFST-NIHORT collaboration is a synergy that needs to be exploited and sustained for National Agricbusiness development of horticultural produce in Nigeria. Speaking at a courtesy visit to the Jerico Reservation Area, Ibadan office of National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), the NIFST president Mr Wole ‘Toye described the visit to the host as a strategic move of the Governing Council of NIFST to consolidate productive synergy with government agencies of relevant mission to the objectives of NIFST as a professional body. The  Executive Director of NIHORT, Dr. A.A. Olaniyan expressed delight at the visit and noted NIHORT’s commitment to progressive collaborations in the areas highlighted by NIFST President. The meeting availed the President of NIFST a forum to interact with NIFST members at NIHORT. On the entourage of NIFST President were the Western Chapter Chairman and Secretary, Dr. A.A. Olapade and Dr O. Afolabi, respectively along other notable members of NIFST.
