FIIRO GRACES PBAN DAY OUT TO ADVOCATE THE USE OF COMPOSITE FLOURS.

Deputy Director Baking and Milling, Food Technology Department, FIIRO ( Dr Mrs A.A Osibanjo ) represented the DG/CEO ( Dr. Mrs Jumai Adamu Tutuwa ) at the PBAN Day out which was a gathering of Professional Bakers, on the 21st of November, 2024.

Dr Osibanjo A.A reeled out the achievements of FIIRO in the aspects of composite flour for bread and confectioneries, stating the success of the institute in Cassava bread which has now been adopted by many MSMEs who come to the Institute for training. Highlights of FIIRO ‘s sweet potato bread was also mentioned by the versatile Deputy Director. In addition, she recalled the Giant 7-tier 100% Cassava cake which was baked in the Institute and publicly presented during FIIRO innovation week in 2014.

Currently, the Institute is involved in developing composite flours from cereal grains, trials are almost concluded and results will soon be rolled out commercially.

To cheer Dr Mrs Osibanjo at the event were other NIFSTers and members of PBAN in the like of Mr Oludare Ojo, Mrs Bunmi Femi-Samuel among others.
