Division of FAO (ESN), in close collaboration with the Statistics Division of FAO (ESS), is planning to build a global database of individual food consumption data together with WHO and other international partners. This database is intended to be made publicly available through a dissemination platform hosted by FAO. It will serve different areas of work (assessment of food/nutrient intake, assessment of the environmental impact of food consumption and assessment of dietary exposure to food chemicals).
To this aim, a pilot food consumption database is being built based on existing datasets from a limited number of countries. We are recruiting a consultant with university degree in nutrition or statistics to support the development of this pilot database.
Please find attached the vacancy announcement. Deadline for application through the FAO iRecruitment system is 15 of April 2014 (instructions at http://www.fao.org/employment/ current-vacancies/consultants/ en/).Please help us in disseminating this vacancy announcement, in particular in low and middle income countries and in other countries which are non or under-represented in FAO (http://www.fao.org/ employment/list-of-non-under- represented-countries/en/).Catherine Leclercq, PhDNutrition Officer
