THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (NIFST) represents professionals drawn from the academia, industry, private, government and research institutes in Nigeria. NIFST became chartered on the 15 th October, 2019 under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology to uphold ethical practices in food processing, production, distribution and food safety in Nigeria.
NIFST provides professional support to its members, the food industry, government in national policy development and implementation, advancing and promoting Food science and Technology as a profession; thus contributing to nation building.
The Local Organising Committee of the LAGOS 2020 Conference tagged ‘THE SUMMIT’, on behalf of the Governing Council are delighted to invite stakeholders the 44th Conference and Annual General Meeting of the institute with the theme “AGRO AND FOOD PROCESSING FOR WEALTH CREATION-THE NIGERIAN EXPERIENCE”. It is scheduled to hold from Monday, 12 th October- Friday, 16th October, 2020 at the D’PODIUM INTERNATIONAL EVENT CENTRE, Aromire Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. The conference offers a platform to elaborate a sustainable framework to address the contemporary national issue of wealth creation through the agro and food processing. Participation and collaboration are invited from all sectors including public and private organisations, NGOs, food and agro-allied industries, the academia, research institutes, students, Nigerians in the Diaspora and foreign nationals.
