Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology-NIFST held a Virtual World Food Safety Day Workshop
An online educational workshop and creative platform for all scientists working in the area of food safety in Nigeria to present their findings and network for excellence. The event held on Monday 8th June 2020 was to commemorate World’s Food Safety Day of 7th June. The workshop moderated by Dr O.A. Obadina, the Head of Department of Food Science & Technology, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, identified the need to increase food safety research and initiative across the country, called for a wider scope of food safety researches, more international collaboration and the need for food safety researches to be published in reputable journals.
